Therapy for Physician Anxiety,
Stress, and Burnout

Beautiful green plant on wicker stool near window indoors, space for text

Confidential therapy for physicians who feel constantly responsible, mentally overloaded, and unable to fully turn off after work.

When Physician Anxiety and Burnout Begin to Spill Into the Rest of Your Life

Physician anxiety and burnout can quietly reshape how you experience both your work and your life. A career that once felt meaningful may now feel heavy, pressured, or difficult to sustain. You may appear capable and composed on the outside while internally carrying constant tension, mental strain, and self-doubt.

Therapy offers a confidential space to step out of constant responsibility, reduce anxiety, and untangle the overthinking that often accompanies practicing medicine. Together, we address the cumulative stress of long hours, high stakes, and ongoing pressure, helping you calm the stress response and regain a sense of steadiness and clarity. The goal is not simply endurance, but restoring balance, protecting your wellbeing, and creating a more sustainable way forward in both your work and your life.

You may recognize yourself here:

Your mind remains active long after your workday ends, replaying clinical decisions, anticipating complications, or feeling unable to fully disengage from responsibility.
You carry a constant sense of pressure to perform at a high level, holding yourself to exacting standards even when you feel mentally and physically depleted.
The weight of responsibility has begun to follow you outside of work, making it difficult to fully relax, be present with others, or feel truly off duty.
You appear calm, capable, and composed professionally, while internally managing ongoing anxiety, tension, or a growing sense of emotional exhaustion.
The cumulative stress of practicing medicine is affecting your sleep, focus, physical wellbeing, or overall sense of balance.
You want to feel clearer, steadier, and more like yourself again — not just functioning, but able to move through your work and life with greater ease and sustainability.

If you’ve been carrying this level of responsibility and strain for a long time, it can begin to feel like there’s no clear place to set it down.

Therapy offers a confidential space to step out of constant pressure, make sense of what you’ve been holding, and begin to feel steadier, clearer, and more supported in both your work and your life.

It’s Possible to Feel Steadier, Calmer, and More Like Yourself Again

Physician anxiety and burnout can make it difficult to find mental quiet, leave work at work, or feel fully present in your life outside of medicine. Over time, many physicians begin to notice less constant pressure, fewer cycles of overthinking, and a greater sense of space and steadiness in their daily lives.

In therapy, I provide a confidential space to slow down and untangle the stress, overthinking, and cumulative strain that often accompany practicing medicine. Together, we work to reduce anxiety, ease burnout, and restore clarity, balance, and sustainability in both your professional and personal life.

over time, many physicians begin to notice

Their mind feels quieter, with less constant mental review, anticipatory thinking, or overthinking
Reduced physician burnout and chronic stress, without needing to push themselves harder
An increased ability to step out of constant responsibility and self-criticism
Improved focus, better rest, and greater mental clarity throughout the day
Greater capacity to set boundaries so the stress of practicing medicine does not continue to spill into their personal life
More presence with family, relationships, and life outside of their role as a physician

Find steadiness again when the pressure of medicine feels heavy…

You’ll receive steady, confidential support and thoughtful guidance to sort through the stress, overthinking, and constant responsibility that can come with practicing medicine. Together, we’ll build practical skills to manage physician anxiety, reduce burnout, and create more separation between work demands and your personal life so your work doesn’t take up all the space in your mind.

Therapy consists of 50-minute, one-on-one virtual sessions held weekly. We begin with weekly sessions to build momentum in reducing stress, improving rest, and helping you feel more grounded, clear, and able to step out of “always on” mode.

Here’s how therapy works

1

First, I provide a confidential, steady space designed specifically for physicians and healthcare professionals — a place where you can step out of performance mode and speak openly about physician anxiety, stress, and burnout.

2

By understanding your experience of practicing medicine the pace, the decision burden, the responsibility, and the emotional weight we form a clear picture of how chronic stress is affecting your work, relationships, and wellbeing.

3

We focus on what’s most immediate: quieting persistent overthinking, improving sleep and recovery, setting boundaries around work stress, and building practical tools you can use in high-pressure moments and high-stakes days.

4

As therapy progresses, we address the deeper patterns that often contribute to physician burnout perfectionism, self-criticism, difficulty letting go, and the belief that you have to hold it all together and build more sustainable ways of relating to your work and yourself.

5

Over time, many physicians feel more centered and clear, with more room to breathe in daily life. The aim isn’t perfection or becoming “stress-free,” but relief from constant pressure with more steadiness, flexibility, and choice in how you move through work, family, and your own inner life.

Specialty Consultation

The first step is to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This allows us to briefly discuss your situation and determine whether my approach to treating anxiety and gut–brain conditions, including IBS, would be appropriate.
